About the Recipe

Ingredients

1. 1 whole chicken (16 pieces)

2. 1 medium size onion (chopped)

3. Half cup yogurt (stirred)

4. 1 tsp salt or up to taste

5. 1 tsp black pepper

6. Half cup oil Garnish:

1. 2 tbsp Chopped cilantro

2. 1 tbsp thin sliced ginger

Preparation

1. Marinate chicken by adding ginger garlic paste, salt and black pepper.

2. Add half cup oil in a pan and let it warm.

3. Add chopped onions in the pan and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently until tender and sautéed.

4. Next add the marinated chicken in the pan and mix it couple of times. After mixing, cover the pan and let it cook. It should be cooked on medium to low heat. Chicken will release it’s moisture.

5. Remove the lid and mix the chicken every 5 to 7 minutes so that the chicken doesn’t stick to the bottom. If it’s sticking add ¼ cup of warm water.

6. Once the chicken changes color and there is little bit water left, add yogurt and cover the pan again. After 5 minutes remove the lid and stir it again.

7. After approximately 5 minutes chicken should be very tender. Taste and add salt, if needed. Uncover and all the chicken to simmer for 3—5 minutes or until the oil rises to the top.

8. Your chicken is ready. Garnish it with cilantro and ginger.
